Jens Magnusson is stepping down as club director of Östers IF. He will remain in his position until the end of March, according to an official confirmation on the club's website reported by fotbolltransfers.com.
The announcement came on Wednesday and concludes a total tenure of almost nine years at the club for Magnusson. His current spell as director began in 2021. The search for a replacement will start immediately, chairman Henrik Lacko stated.
What the chairman says about the departure
Henrik Lacko praised Magnusson's work in his statement. "Jens has lived and breathed Östers IF in recent years", Lacko said. He emphasised that Magnusson contributed to positive development over the last five years.
The club has mixed recent form with two losses in their last two matches. Their last five results are a loss to Falkenberg, a loss to United Nordic, a draw with Sandviken, and two wins against Sundsvall and Ljungskile. The most recent match ended 2-1 against Falkenbergs FF last week.
What Magnusson himself says
In his farewell message, Jens Magnusson promised to give his all until his final day. "Until my last day I will continue to do everything I can for the association", he said. He pointed to the development the club has undergone during his time.
How the club moves forward
The work to find a new club director has already begun. The Östers IF board, which also includes Nils Palmqvist, will lead the process. It is a key appointment given the club is in the middle of a tough Superettan season.
