Max Mölder to Leave Östers IF
Recruited in the winter transfer window, head coach Max Mölder has not managed to keep his job at Östers IF. The club's management has now decided to terminate his contract following a series of conflicts with players and media, according to sources from Fotbollskanalen.
Interim Period under Daniel Friberg and Johan Karlsson
Mölder did not lead the training session on Thursday. Instead, assistant coach Daniel Friberg will take over, along with P19 coach Johan Karlsson, during an interim period.
Conflicts and Criticism
Öster played in Allsvenskan last season but has failed to improve its performance this time around. After the 4-1 loss against Ljungskile recently, Mölder harshly criticized his own players on a press conference and questioned their character.
This led to a critical reaction from TV4's expert John Guidetti in Bollklubben: 'You must either sell the entire squad or fire the coach. This can't be salvaged,' he stated.
Mölder has since apologized for his outburst at the press conference, but the club management has decided to terminate his contract anyway.
